Sturgeon Fishing Columbia River

Sturgeon Fishing Columbia River

If you go Columbia River Sturgeon fishing you will experience a fishing trip you won't soon forget. The guides tell me that May through July provides the best fishing. These awesome fighting fish are the largest freshwater fish in the world. To catch one of these huge fish is like catching a log or a locomotive.

Keepers are 42" to 60". Most keeper sturgeon are fished on the Columbia River near Astoria, Oregon. These saltwater sturgeon are some of the best eating fish, and are a delicacy.

Most trophy sturgeon are fished up near the Bonneville Dam in the spectacular Columbia River Gorge. Trophy or oversize Sturgeon average 6' to 10 ' in length and up to 400 pounds. They are catch and release.

The Columbia River Sturgeon fishing guides will provide all fishing equipment and tackle you will need.

Method of Sturgeon fishing, is to drift bait behind an anchored boat.
